Strange Phenomena that Have Happened to My Life in the Year Since I Left Chicago
- I no longer brace myself for an icy blast every time I open a door
- I wear more Patagonia than I do Banana Republic
- I (kinda) know how the internet works
- A quadrillion dollars for a two bedroom condo sounds normal and like a pretty good deal for the neighborhood, actually
- I've somehow become more overcaffeinated than I already was
- I went from being a Tokyo Drifter to Driving Miss Daisy
- I now how life insurance agents calling me to ask if I've considered what will happen to my life savings if I were to die in the Really Big One
- A fair amount of my new friends are dogs, tbh
- A v handsome man now buys me dinner on Friday nights

A year ago today I arrived in Seattle, a little unsure of how or why I left Chicago in the first place and incredibly unaware of the innumerable ways my life would be changed by this new place. Today, I'm grateful beyond measure for the kindness of this city, my community who loves me well, the caffeine flowing in ways milk and honey couldn't begin to compete, and, mostly, a sovereign and gracious Father who has provided more than I could ask or think.
